Founded in 2012, Athlete.com is an innovative social and fundraising platform that enables athletes such as runners or walkers to raise money for their favorite charities via “virtual charity sports events” they create or join. It’s a modern day run/walkathon of sorts, where friends, family and colleagues can pledge dollars (or cents) per mile logged. While, allowing athletes to convert daily training or racing miles into raised money and awareness for a charitable cause.
Upon registering for an “event” on Athlete.com, participants use the free athlete.com tracking apps (or a Garmin) to monitor accrued miles. “Virtual charity sports event” are simple to create and can be launched globally in under an hour. www.athlete.com.

Drew Izzo – Chief Executive Officer
Drew is a business & marketing executive with over 20 years of experience at building and scaling businesses. He cofounded a business in his early 20’s & worked in various corporate roles for a handful of years until landing at Ancestry.com. As the head of marketing, he helped grow Ancestry.com over 6 years from $30M in sales to nearly $200M. Joined Roost.com in San Francisco as CMO, raised an $8M round in the worst real estate economy in decades. He was subsequently recruited by Ancestry execs to IBFX. IBFX landed on the Inc 500 in 2008 & 2009 & was also crowned the fastest growing company in Utah both years. Ushered IBFX to an acquisition in 2011 by TradeStation Group, part of the Monex Group in Japan. He holds a BS from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MBA from Westminster College. Mr. Izzo is married, lives in Park City, Utah with his wife & 2 kids. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys biking, running, skiing, swimming and competing in ultra‐endurance events. He is a former semipro mountain biker, an Ironman Triathlete, and just ran the “hardest marathon in the world” on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Peru placing 4th overall.
Dustin McQuay – Chief Technology Officer
Dustin loves creating elegant products. He earned a BS in Information Systems from Brigham Young University in 2007. His background in web development and his passion for the outdoors (especially adventure running) made him a perfect fit for Backcountry.com where his career started. There he helped to build out their community platform both as a developer and later as a development manager. His mantra in software development is keeping it simple. This passion has piqued his interest in platforms such as Node.js/express and Python's Django which are particularly clean and simple. Dustin believes in minimalism outside of software development as well. He is a barefoot runner. What sport could be more minimal?
Dallin Atkinson – Chief Product Officer
Dallin is a masterful designer and online experience architect. He has been integral in creating sites for large companies from Intel to Ernst & Young as well building the brands for several successful startups. Dallin recently played a key role as the Brand Manager and Online Marketing Director for Progrexion, where he helped grow a fledgling online marketing group from 6 employees to over 1600. Dallin is a gamer at heart, and loves to make life adventurous for his wife and three kids, his troop of Boy Scouts, and the millions who use his products every day.
